Usyk and Fury had a hugely successful year, largely down to their two epic heavyweight meetings which landed in Saudi Arabia.

The Ukrainian beat Fury in May to land the undisputed titles, but he earned significantly less than his counterpart.

Before an immediate rematch was called, which saw Usyk earn a much higher split of the purse.

And the outcome was the same, with Usyk getting the decision on the judges’ scorecards.

Despite the results, both fighters benefitted, and have had an extremely solid year of earnings.

That is according to Forbes’ 2025 highest earning athletes list, who have both heavyweight operators inside the top twenty.

Usyk sits at the edge of the top table in eleventh, having pocketed a tidy $100 million from in-ring earnings and an added $1 million from separate endorsements.

But Fury had an incredible year and incredibly sits third in the list, only behind Al Nassr’s Cristiano Ronaldo and NBA star Steph Curry.

Ronaldo pocketed a mammoth $275 million, while Curry took home $156 million with a huge $100 million coming rom outside his sporting contract.

It was just the heavyweights who made the list, with Canelo Alvarez also featuring in the top 50.

The Mexican banked $80 million and is sat outside of the top 20 in 22nd.

For Fury, he will now likely fall out of the list immediately given he announced his retirement from the sport.

The ‘Gypsy King’ could still earn bumper purses for showdowns with Anthony Joshua, and he has hinted he could make a U-turn on his decision again.

Meanwhile Usyk is likely in for another big year, with a huge undisputed rematch against Daniel Dubois at Wembley to come on July 19.

And Fury’s manager Spencer Brown echoed them sentiments, insisting that it could well be on the cards.

Fury and Usyk pocketed a combined fortune close to £200 million

“He’s retired, but you never know with Tyson Fury,” Brown told Boxing News.

“He’s an enigma, isn’t he? I said a couple of tongue-in-cheek things last week.

“But if he gets his head around it and he is happy, then maybe you will see him back.

“If there is enough money there, it’s all about risk and reward.
