Punjab Kings have faced a massive blow amid the ongoing game against Rajasthan Royals in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. Skipper Shreyas Iyer didn't come to to field in the second innings at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur.
Shreyas Iyer, as per the reports in the Times of India, has been battling a finger injury. The Punjab Kings skipper faced an injury on his index finger on the eve of the game against the Rajasthan Royals. He was in immense pain, but he wanted to play the game, in what was a crucial game for the team.
Shreyas Iyer came out to bat in the game against the Rajasthan Royals and played a decent innings. But he didn't look as comfortable as he had looked in the entire season. It was expected that he would come out to the field in the second innings, but that hasn't been the case at all.
Shreyas Iyer, ahead of the second innings, was subbed out, and Harpreet Brar came in as a replacement. However, in his absence, Shashank Singh has been handed the responsibility of leading the team, and would be keen to fill the shoes of Iyer, who has done a great job as captain.
