A second man has been arrested in connection with arson attacks at properties and a car linked to Sir Keir Starmer.
The 26-year-old was arrested around 1.45pm on Saturday, 17 May at London Luton Airport on suspicion of conspiracy to commit arson with intent to endanger life.
It comes after a 21-year-old man was held on suspicion of arson with intent to endanger life after blazes, including a suspected firebomb attack on the Prime Minister’s house in Kentish Town, north London.
He was arrested by counter terrorism officers from the Eastern Region Special Operations Unit and taken into police custody in London.
The arrest relates to a vehicle fire in on 8 May, and a fire at the entrance of a property on 11 May, which is owned by Starmer, and a fire at a home in the early hours of 12 May.
All have previous connections with a high-profile public figure, and therefore officers from the Met’s Counter Terrorism Command have led the investigation into the fires.
Police ask anyone with information to call them on 101 quoting reference number CAD 441/12 May.
The 21-year-old man has already appeared in court.
This is a breaking story and will be updated.
