CHRISTIAN BARMORE has opened up on his horror 2024 season.
The New England Patriots star was diagnosed with blood clots before the first snap of last year’s campaign.
Barmore missed the first 10 games of the season just weeks after penning a mammoth new deal with the franchise.
After returning for four games his symptoms returned, forcing the 25-year-old onto the reserve/non-football illness list.
Barmore has now been cleared for offseason workouts and is expected to play Week 1, barring any setbacks.
The former second round pick admits he fell on hard times after his diagnosis.
“It was one of the hardest times,” Barmore admitted.
“I felt like I did everything in my power, wanting to come back.
‘I don’t want to ever be in that situation again, or anybody in the world to go through that.
“That stuff was no joke. It was a hard challenge.”
Barmore signed a four-year contract extension with the Patriots worth up to $92 million in April 2024.
It made him the highest paid player in Patriots history – apart from Tom Brady.
Barmore racked up 64 tackles, 8.5 sacks, and six pass breakups in 2023.
The former Alabama tackle will be alongside Milton Williams this season, who is fresh from Super Bowl success with the Philadelphia Eagles.
Barmore and Williams have already formed a bond off the field.
And the Philly native is hopeful the pair can turn the Patriots’ fortunes around on defense.

“We see who’s the first one in the weight room,” Barmore told ESPN.
“Who is the first one in the meeting room. We’ve been always going at it.
‘He makes me work hard. He’s a hell of a worker, hell of a guy, hell of a player.”
The Patriots begin their 2025 NFL season against the Las Vegas Raiders on September 7.
