San Diego’s Alma Hotel recently announced that its rooftop pool and restaurant, Leave of Absence, will reopen on May 23.
Steps from the historic Gaslamp Quarter, the rooftop retreat blends elevated hospitality with local charm under the San Diego sun. The hotel said it will offer guests to dine al fresco amongst sunny loungers and shaded cabanas, enjoying a menu of local California fare.
Guests can expect shareable bites including roasted garlic and lemon hummus and bay scallop ceviche, alongside fresh, hearty salads like the classic caesar and chopped salad. The restaurant will also offer woodfired, hand-stretched pizzas, available in red and white sauce varieties, like the Diego Hawaiian, which is topped with roasted pineapple, applewood smoked bacon, pickled peppers and burrata and The Leave of Absence signature pizza, which is topped with applewood smoked bacon, pepperoni, spicy italian sausage, caramelized onions and mozzarella.
The drink menu consists of cocktails, craft beers, wines and non-alcoholic options.
Open to both hotel guests and the public via ResortPass, Alma’s rooftop pool offers daybeds and cabanas for the ultimate city getaway, for locals and out of towners alike.
Leave of Absence is also available for semi-private and private events—perfect for birthday parties, graduation dinners, or poolside celebrations of any kind, the hotel said.
