SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO – A 19-year-old man was arrested in connection with a hit-and-run collision that injured a pedestrian over the weekend in South San Francisco, police said.

The pedestrian was taken to an area trauma center with major injuries, police said.
The suspect left the scene after the hit-and-run collision and was involved in two separate vehicle pursuits with officers from the San Bruno and Menlo Park police departments, police said.
Officers identified the suspect and canceled the pursuits in the interest of public safety, police said.
On Sunday, officers arrested the suspect in South San Francisco and booked him into San Mateo County jail on charges of hit-and-run causing injury and reckless evading.
