Trader Joe’s launches ‘ultra hydrating’ moisturizer for just $9 that fans say rivals Clinique’s $47 alternative

A MOISTURIZER has been launched at Trader Joe’s for just $9 that fans say makes a great dupe for Clinique’s $47 version.

The Trader Joe’s product is ultra hydrating and many of the same ingredients that the more expensive Clinique version boasts.

A lot of the time it can be difficult to know which beauty product top go for, especially when they sound so similar on paper.

Sometimes, it makes more sense to automatically side with the pricier product, because we have been taught that more money equals better quality.

But that doesn’t mean that the cheaper alternatives don’t have anything to offer.

Trader Joe’s is now selling its Ultra Hydrating Gel Moisturizer, and it will save you $40 for a similar product experience.

This is one of the lower end products in terms of price, especially compared to Sephora’s Clinique Hydrator Gel-Cream Moisturizer.

Both include birch extract, green tea, aloe, thistle extract, and sodium hyaluronate.

The Trader Joe’s version is a water-based gel and is fragrance free.

The product description reads: “Trader Joe’s Ultra Hydrating Gel Moisturizer is the moisturizing deluge your pretty, parched visage has been thirsting for.

“The water-based gel formula is packed with skin-soothing ingredients, like aloe leaf juice and green tea, birch leaf, & milk thistle extracts.

“It also contains the holy grail of modern moisturizing ingredients: sodium hyaluronate, or the salt form of hyaluronic acid, prized for its ability to both “lock in” skin’s natural moisture and add to it, without leaving an oily residue.

“Like an oasis in the desert, our paraben-free, fragrance-free, never-tested-on-animals Ultra Hydrating Gel Moisturizer is here to rehydrate.

“Simply apply to the face and neck after cleansing with your favorite TJ’s face wash, twice a day or as needed, and you’ll be glowing in no time—radiance restored!”

You can now get a tub of the moisturizer for $8.99 at Trader Joe’s.

Reviews have also praised the gel.

The outlet apartment therapy said: “When I’m rushing in the morning to get ready and don’t want to wait minutes between layers of skincare, this Trader Joe’s moisturizer is refreshing to apply, sits on the skin really nicely, and has a nice slip to it that makes applying my SPF and liquid blush a dream.

“It’s hydrating enough for my cheeks, which can get chapped in the winter months, but doesn’t make my T zone shiny.”

    SEPHORA VERSION

The Sephora version is more expensive, but also has some highly redeeming features on its side.

The “refreshing” cream promises up to 100 hours of hydration and will benefit normal, dry and oily skin.

This version is also fragrance free and without parabens, just like the Trader Joe’s one.

This description says: “A refreshing fan-favorite gel-cream with a lightweight, oil-free texture that penetrates skin’s surface and delivers up to 100 hours of hydration.”

    Dermatologist-approved anti-aging tips

Dermatologist Dr. Brendan Camp shared his dermatologist-approved tips with The U.S. Sun.

Stop using tanning beds. Don’t use sunscreen to contour your face. Wear driving gloves to protect your hands from the sun. He likes Coolibar Gannett UV Gloves UPF 50+, $15.99 to $39. Exercise, stick to a healthy diet, and get enough sleep. Don’t drink excessively or smoke.

And experts have also vouched for it despite the higher price tag.

Aesthetician Joshua Ross said: “It’s a great option for those who prefer a light, more absorbent moisturizer, especially for oily [skin] types.”

Shoppers have a decision to make.

Price doesn’t always guarantee results, and for something as temperamental as your skin, nothing is certain when first buying a product like this.
