With the GTA 6 release date finally confirmed, the hype for one of the biggest game releases ever is sky-high.
We already know that the game is set for a 2026 release on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S thanks to what we learned from Trailer 2, but what about PC?
If you're not a console gamer but are still hoping to make a return to Vice City, let's take a look at whether or not GTA 6 will be coming to PC.
Grand Theft Auto 6 has been shrouded in mystery for over a year; all of our knowledge about the game before now has come from leaks and rumours.
Is GTA 6 coming to PC?
At the time of writing, Rockstar has not confirmed whether or not GTA 6 is coming to PC.
Since the game was first announced, we've known that the game was slated for release on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S consoles, but to-date, nothing has been said about a PC release.
Even now, if we look at the new GTA 6 section of the Rockstar website, we can see that the only pieces of hardware associated with the game are PS5 and Xbox Series X/S - so it isn't just the trailer that the PC has been omitted from. It's nowhere to be seen on the website, either.
However, we know this doesn't mean a PC release is completely off the cards. Let's get our speculating hats back on to work out when a GTA 6 PC release might come about.
When will GTA 6 come to PC?
We'll flag here that this is all speculation! As soon as an official announcement comes from Rockstar, we'll be sure to let you know right here.
However, we predict that GTA 6 will release on PC in 2027.
Let's look back on previous Rockstar titles, and the gap between console and PC releases.
GTA 4 was ported to PC the same year as its console release, and while GTA 5 took a little longer, at two years, Red Dead Redemption 2 came to Windows just a year after dropping on PS4 and Xbox One.
As RDR2 is the latest of these titles, we reckon this is the best example for comparison. Fingers crossed this is the case. We can't wait to see those crazy alligator mods!
Previously, we had expected a 2026 PC release, but with the game being pushed back a year to 2026, we think it makes sense to push our own prediction back in turn, so 2027 it is.
It could launch in 2028 at a push, but we would be shocked if it released any later than that.
Either way, we would be shocked if Rockstar decided to never port the game to PC, so don't worry on that front.
In fact, following recently surfaced 60 FPS footage of GTA 6, fans are already making the case that the game could in fact launch on PC alongside consoles in 2026 – though, it should be said, we think this is wishful thinking, unfortunately.
