Former Oklahoma guard Duke Miles reveals new SEC commitment

Former Oklahoma guard Duke Miles has found a new home in the transfer portal. For now, at least, in what has been a busy offseason for the former Sooner.

According to Joe Tipton with On3 Sports, Miles is now committed to Vanderbilt as a key pickup for head coach Mark Byington. After spending the 2024-25 season at Oklahoma, Miles has spent the offseason committed to 2 other destinations: Virginia and Texas A&M.

Most recently, Miles was with the Aggies as a key pickup for new head coach Bucky McMillan. However, he re-entered the transfer portal after Texas A&M picked up Rylan Griffen from Kansas.

Miles began his career at Troy and High Point but proved to be an efficient scorer upon landing in the SEC. With the Sooners, Miles averaged 9.4 points per game and was particularly efficient from long range, shooting 43% from 3-point range this season.

If Miles does indeed sign and play for the Commodores, he should likely be penciled into a key role for Byington’s squad. Vanderbilt has added 7 transfer pieces this offseason after the Commodores advanced to their first March Madness appearance since 2017 in Byington’s first season.

Miles is 1 of 5 transfer pickups for Byington to receive a 4-star rating from 247 Sports.
