HUNDREDS of Costco shoppers will close their doors for 24 hours only in the coming weeks forcing shoppers to head to rivals.
The temporary closure will come just weeks after warehouses fell silent in a retail blackout.
And, the springtime shutdown will be in line to mark a federal holiday.
Costco warehouses will be closed to the public on Memorial Day – which falls on May 26.
This will give workers the chance to commemorate the holiday with their friends and family.
Costco warehouses will also be closed on Independence Day, July 4, and Labor Day, which is celebrated in the fall.
Chiefs also close stores to mark Thanksgiving and Christmas.
Costco’s temporary shutdown allows rival companies the chance to scoop up business.
But shoppers have been warned that wholesale and grocery store chains may operate different hours.
Sam’s Club is open on Memorial Day but operates two sets of hours.
Plus members can access warehouses between 8am and 6pm.
But, Club members must wait two hours before they step foot in stores.

Aldi chiefs have also warned that stores may operate limited hours on May 26.
BJ’s Wholesale members will be able to pick up Memorial Day bargains as stores will remain open on the holiday.
Shoppers who may be in need of last minute groceries needn’t despair.
That’s because retailers such as Trader Joe’s, Walmart, and Target will remain open for Memorial Day.
Food Lion, H-E-B, and Kroger stores will not be closing for Memorial Day.
Whole Foods and Wegman’s stores will continue trading as normal.
Shoppers are unlikely to be impacted by a change in opening hours.
Last year, Home Depot, Ikea, JCPenney, Jo-Ann, and Kohl’s were open on Memorial Day.
Jo-Ann recently filed for bankruptcy and will be closing all of its remaining stores.
Stores are expected to slam shut by the end of May.
Macy’s and Nordstrom locations are also set to remain open on Memorial Day based on recent shopping trends.
