JUSTIN Blackmon went from a generational prospect to NFL bust in just two years.
It had nothing to do with his performance on the field, but rather his issues off the field.
Blackmon was a highly-rated prospect coming out of Oklahoma State before his NFL career eventually sputtered.
He was the best wide receiver in college football for two years and a slam dunk first-round pick.
In 2010 and 2011 Blackmon racked up over 3,300 yards and 38 touchdowns on 232 catches.
His performance earned him back-to-back Biletnikoff Awards, the award for the nation’s top receiver, in those years.
While he was thriving on the field, Blackmon’s off the field issues started in college.
He was arrested on October 25, 2010 for driving under the influence after being caught going 92 mph in a 60 mph zone.
Blackmon. was suspended for one game and his college career continued without a hitch.
He continued to thrive in college and was eventually drafted to the Jacksonville Jaguars with the No. 5 overall pick in the 2012 NFL Draft.
Getting drafted didn’t clean up Blackmon’s act though. Just two months after the draft he was arrested again, this time for aggravated DUI.
The 2012 season was still a success for Blackmon. He played 16 games and caught 64 passes for 865 yards and five touchdowns.
He eventually pleaded guilty to the 2012 DUI charge and earned his first NFL suspension because of it.
Blackmon sat out of the first four games of the 2013 NFL season due to his suspension, but broke out in a big way when he returned.
In four games Blackmon had 415 yards and a touchdown, but was quickly suspended again.
The NFL sidelined him indefinitely for violating the NFL’s substance abuse policy.
Blackmon never played another snap in the NFL after that suspension, but his issues continued.

Blackmon still has supporters in the world of football though.
