UNC Statement: No, Jordon Hudson is Not Banned from the Football Facilities

The UNC athletic department released a statement Friday morning confirming that Jordon Hudson, the 24-year-old girlfriend of head football coach Bill Belichick, is still welcome around the program’s facilities. The statement came after a report from former ESPN correspondent Pablo Torre earlier that morning stated Hudson had been banned from the premises.

You can read UNC’s statement in full below:

While Jordon Hudson is not an employee at the University or Carolina Athletics, she is welcome to the Carolina Football facilities. Jordon will continue to manage all activities related to Coach Belichick’s personal brand outside of his responsibilities for Carolina Football and the University.

Hudson’s relationship with Belichick has been in the public spotlight since Belichick’s contentious interview for the television program “CBS Sunday Morning” aired April 27. The head coach released a statement following the airing of the piece, in which he decried the “false narrative” about his and Hudson’s relationship suggested throughout the interview. The segment reported that Hudson was a “constant” presence during the interview, showing her shutting down reporter Tony Dokoupil’s question about how she and Belichick met. TMZ reported Hudson “stormed out of the room” and delayed shooting for 30 minutes.

CBS News would later release their own statement refuting Belichick’s claims.

Belichick is currently in his first year as the head coach at UNC after being hired in December. He has yet to coach a single game for the Tar Heels and will make his debut on the sidelines September 1 against TCU in Chapel Hill.
