Sequoia 3, El Camino 0

The Ravens (21-11, 11-0) started their program in 2019, and it is their first league title in school history. Sequoia’s squad is led by senior captain Cade Miller, a 6-foot-5 outside hitter who is committed to play at New York University.
Baseball
Livermore 1, No. 2 Granada 0
Livermore picked up a stunning upset win over Granada on the back of a sterling pitching performance from Braden Ford. The junior went 6 1/3 innings and allowed four hits, holding the Matadors scoreless while navigating six walks.
He was relieved by senior Ryker Bortoli, who inherited two baserunners and one out in the bottom of the seventh. Bortoli found some good fortune when Livermore catcher Hayden Maas threw out Granada’s Peyton Richards as he tried to steal third.
The fun wasn’t over. Estevan Duarte advanced to second on the play, and Bortoli walked Chase Nadeau to once again place runners on first and second, with two outs.
But with the game hanging in the balance, Bortoli buckled down and got the final out. Though final batter Jack Badger worked a full count, Bortoli struck him out swinging to pick up the save.
Maas was also the offensive hero for the Cowboys, providing the game’s lone run with a solo homer in the top of the fourth.
