Punjab Kings, after the abandoned game, moved to third on the points table with 7 wins and 3 losses from their 12 games. The Shreyas Iyer-led have 16 points and to qualify for the playoffs, they just need to win one of their remaining two games in the tournament.
However, if they lose both their games, they will still have a strong chance to qualify as they have already reached the 16-point. But, considering the competition in the league, their qualification at 16 points will depend on NRR and the results of other games.
On the other hand, Delhi Capitals are in a real spot of bother. They are fifth on the points table with 6 wins, 14 points, and 4 losses from 12 games. To ensure the smooth qualification, the Axar Patel-led side needs to win both their remaining games, as it will take them to 18 points.
However, if they lose one game and win one, they will have a chance, but it will depend on the results of other matches and NRR. If they lose both their games, then it would mean curtains for them in the tournament.
Next matches of PBKS and DC in the IPL 2025
Punjab Kings will be next seen in action when they take on Mumbai Indians on 11th May. The match will be played at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. They will play their last league game against Rajasthan Royals at Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur on 16th May.
On the other hand, Delhi Capitals will next play Gujarat Titans at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi on 11th May. And then will be locking horns with Mumbai Indians on 15th May at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.
