With the fate of the ongoing Pakistan Super League 2025 (PSL 2025) hanging in the balance, the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has decided to bring back their two cricketers- Nahid Rana and Rishad Hossain- from Pakistan as soon as possible.
The schedule of the ongoing PSL has been disrupted due to the ongoing tension between India and Pakistan. In the wake of the Pahalgam terror attack that led to the killing of 26 civilians, India carried out several strikes in Pakistan in the early hours of Wednesday.
Later, Pakistan tried to strike a number of Indian military establishments in the northern and western parts of the country on the intervening night of May 7-8, and India was quick to respond. India neutralised the air defence system in Lahore.
"On the night of 07-08 May 2025, Pakistan attempted to engage a number of military targets in Northern and Western India including Awantipura, Srinagar, Jammu, Pathankot, Amritsar, Kapurthala, Jalandhar, Ludhiana, Adampur, Bhatinda, Chandigarh, Nal, Phalodi, Uttarlai, and Bhuj, using drones and missiles.
"These were neutralised by the Integrated Counter UAS Grid and Air Defence systems. The debris of these attacks is now being recovered from a number of locations that prove the Pakistani attacks," the defence ministry said in a release.
Reports also suggest that there were multiple drone strikes inside Pakistan, and one of those strikes took place near the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium. The incident has led to the postponement of two matches, and it won't be surprising if the entire PSL is called off soon.

There are serious safety concerns among the overseas players participating in the ongoing PSL 2025 due to the mounting tension between India and Pakistan. Amidst all these, the BCB has stated that they are monitoring the condition of their cricketers and want to bring them back quickly.
"The Board is working closely with both the PCB and the Bangladesh High Commission to make certain that the cricketers feel safe and secure during their stay in Pakistan.
"Furthermore, the BCB is coordinating with the relevant authorities to ensure that all arrangements are in place to facilitate the eventual departure of the players from Pakistan in a timely and secure manner," the BCB said in a statement on Thursday.
The BCB also stated that they are in constant communication with both players. According to a report in Cricbuzz, both Rana and Rishad are not willing to stay in Pakistan due to security reasons and want to leave the country immediately.
