George Pickens is a former Georgia wide receiver star with the ability to deliver highlight-reel catches. Originally a 2nd-round pick by the Pittsburgh Steelers, the franchise made the move to trade Pickens away to the NFC East early on Wednesday morning.
The Dallas Cowboys revealed that they have acquired Pickens in a package that includes draft-pick compensation. Dallas will receive Pickens and a 6th-round pick in 2027 in exchange for a 3rd-round pick in 2026 and a 5th-round pick in 2027.
The move particularly pairs Pickens with former Oklahoma star CeeDee Lamb, the No. 1 option and an All-Pro performer for the Cowboys:

Pickens was a star for Kirby Smart and the Bulldogs across the 2019 and 2020 seasons before an injury-limited season during Georgia’s run to the 2021 national title. He would record a 52-yard catch during the national championship victory over Alabama.
Instead of returning for a final season in 2022, Pickens hit the draft and was still selected in the 2nd round by the Steelers. He has had an up-and-down career in Pittsburgh, albeit working with a questionable quarterback room, and is coming off a season with 59 catches for 900 yards and 3 touchdowns.
Originally, it looked like Pickens would serve as part of a dynamic wide receiver room for the Steelers in 2025 after the franchise acquired DK Metcalf from the Seattle Seahawks. Instead, Pickens will head to Dallas to try and prove he can be a reliable — and dangerous — No. 2 option alongside Lamb.
