India National Cricket Team head coach Gautam Gambhir has been making the headlines for his epic yet surprising and no-nonsense take on the cricketer and the ongoing tensions with Pakistan at an event amid the ongoing IPL 2025.

Speaking at an event organized by ABP News, Gautam Gambhir made a sensational confession that if he had the chance to switch bodies with any cricketer, he’d choose none other than “Virat Kohli,” clearing all the rumors about his relationship with the Indian batting maestro.

The reason behind his pick was the former Indian captain’s stunning fitness level even at the age of 36, and he said that everyone wants to be like the dashing right-hander. Hailing Kohli’s unmatched athleticism and fitness, Gambhir said, “He’s the fittest guy in the team.”

Meanwhile, Kohli and Gautam Gambhir had a couple of on-field verbal altercations in the IPL in the past, but since the former Indian opener joined the national cricket team as head coach, the two have been seen enjoying each other's company. And now Gambhir calls Kohli his friend.
Gambhir added, “We were friends, we are friends, and we are going to remain friends, and the reason why I say that is it is important, it is important for every one of you to know what happens on the field.”
Notably, Kohli and Gambhir once played together for India and shared mutual respect as aggressive match-winners, but things took a sour turn in the IPL.
