REBEKAH Vardy is believed to have just £370,000 left to pay off from her eye-watering Wagatha Christie legal costs.
The footballer’s wife is said to be “relieved” as the bitter six-year libel court battle with Wayne Rooney‘s other half Coleen finally ended today.
The rival wags faced off one last time over Coleen’s “assessment costs” as a judge ruled Becky should pay £212k on top of the £1.19million settlement, totalling at least £1.4million.
A source told The Sun: “Becky’s breathing a sigh of relief today as she happily closes the chapter on this ongoing saga.
“There are big plans coming up for her and so now she’s 100 per cent focused on the future.”
It’s claimed Becky paid off approximately two-thirds of the bill four years ago.
Following today’s ruling, she will only have to pay the final difference of £370k in the next couple of months, it’s understood.
The judge said that he was “generally happy” that the outcome was a “commercially satisfactory conclusion for both sides”, but that there had been “extraordinary expenditure of costs” by both parties.
Costs Judge Mark Whalan added: “I do mean it when I say that I hope that this is the end of a long and unhappy road.”
He said some of the assessment costs claimed by Mrs Rooney were “a little eyebrow-raising” and “unreasonably high and disproportionate”.
The pair have been in dispute over costs since Mrs Vardy unsuccessfully sued Mrs Rooney at the High Court in 2022.
A specialist costs court was told earlier on Tuesday that Mrs Vardy had agreed to pay £1,190,000 of Mrs Rooney’s legal bill, and that Mrs Rooney was asking for a further £315,000 in “assessment costs”.
Those close to Becky say she’ll pay £1.27million in total after receiving some money back from the court feud.
Neither of the WAGs attended the remote hearing, with Judge Whalan stating that the two “can both part to put this matter behind them”.
Rebekah brought the multi-million pound case to court after she was accused of leaking stories to the press.
But Coleen – wife of ex-England ace Wayne – won the epic libel battle in 2022 – bringing an end to the three-year saga.
The row erupted back in October 2019 when Coleen turned detective and accused Rebekah of sharing stories from her personal Instagram account.
In the infamous post, Coleen said she posted a string of false stories via her Instagram account with restricted access to see if they appeared in the media, which they did.
She then said the fake stories had only been viewed by one person, and ended dramatically: “It’s . . . Rebekah Vardy’s account.”
In return, Rebekah declared war and accused Coleen of destroying her reputation as she brought the libel case to court.
But her reputation and finances were left hanging in tatters after she was savaged by Mrs Justice Steyn in her ruling and sensationally lost the libel case in 2022.
