NISSAN drivers have just weeks left to get a crucial check done on their vehicle before a free program is axed.
The Japanese car maker is retiring several services and rolling out a new structure – which they believe will simplify operations and improve predictability.
According to CDG News, an initiative to be known as Nissan One is set to launch on June 3.
But it also sees three long-standing programs – Quality Growth (QGP), Retail Development Fund (RDF), and Invest in the Best (IITB) – being eliminated or reshaped.
Worse still, Nissan is also pausing its complimentary Maintenance Care on new ICE vehicles produced after May 1, as well as on EVs starting with model year 2026.
QGP, tied to incremental sales volume, will end after May, while RDF, which is used by dealers to fund local marketing and store development, is finishing in early June.
IITB is often dependent on volume and CSI metrics and will be merely simplified from July.
But for drivers, the loss of Maintenance Care on new vehicles is a blow – although coverage on existing inventory still applies if it’s printed on the Monroney label.
In its place, Nissan is urging dealers to promote Security+Plus service contracts for maintenance.
According to Dealership Guy, Nissan said: “At this point in time, our focus is on turning around the business as quickly as possible and re-directing resources to programs that support near-term vehicle throughput and dealer profitability.”
Nissan’s SVP of US Marketing and Sales Vinay Shahani says the team is reviewing every program and removing any that don’t directly help sell cars, support dealer margin, or enhance customer satisfaction.
Speaking to the CDG Podcast, he said: “We went through every single program.
“And we asked, ‘Number one, does it help sell cars? Number two, does it help drive return on sales for dealers? And number three, does it help take care of the guest?’
“If the program didn’t do at least one of those three things—it got the axe.”
Shahani also previewed these changes during the New York Auto Forum, outlining a back-to-basics strategy focused on product, affordability, and dealer confidence.
“My message to my team and my partners is we have great products to sell here… we’re here to stay,” he told attendees.
“There’s nothing happening to Nissan other than we’re doubling down on our investments.”
Full details on Nissan One are set to arrive on June 3.
Nissan says it is working to ensure the new structure is easier to navigate and better aligned with how dealers actually sell cars.
