PATRICK MAHOMES’ half-brother has been given the chance to join him at the Kansas City Chiefs in a shock transfer.
Graham Walker, whose father is also Patrick Mahomes Sr., spent the first three seasons of his college career starring as a wide receiver at Brown University.
There he racked up 125 catches, 1,464 receiving yards and 15 touchdowns.
He then transferred to Rice University where he volunteered to change position from wide receiver to tight end, where he then registered 24 receptions and 252 yards.
The 6ft 3″, 227lbs hunk then declared for the NFL draft in January.
Despite this, he was not picked up by an NFL team during last week’s draft in Green Bay – though Walker did not attend the draft in person.
Instead he watched the draft at home in Vermont with his mother, Jessamyn Walker, and stepfather, Gerry Howatt.
However, Walker could now be given a lifeline to play next season after he was given an invitation to the Chiefs’ rookie minicamp.
While many undrafted stars were swooped up by NFL teams, Walker waited several weeks before any news, which came in the form of the Chiefs’ invite.
The camp. which has 87 players participating, started on Saturday and is due to run until Monday at the team’s facility in Kansas City.
It is unclear what relationship Walker has with the Mahomes, although he is known to have met his older half-brother a few times and share the same agency, Equity Sports.
But Walker has also revealed how the three-time Super Bowl MVP has also given him some pointers during his college career after revealing Mahomes had been keeping an eye on him.
He told Seven Days: “I know Patrick has been watching the games, and he’s reached out and said good things that I’ve been doing.
“When someone who’s accomplished so much can say you’re doing well, it really feels good.”
But he will not be meeting Mahomes over the course of the camp, with his brother and wife, Brittany, in Miami for the Formula One Grand Prix.
The Chiefs failed to make NFL history with an unprecedented three-peat of the Super Bowl this year as they fell to defeat against the Philadelphia Eagles.
