Rajat Patidar-led Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and MS Dhoni-led Chennai Super Kings (CSK) have officially revealed the list of impact players, who have been nominated for the 52nd match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025.
The M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru is hosting the high-octane IPL 2025 match between the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) on Saturday, May 3.

Historically, Chennai Super Kings (CSK) have dominated in the matches against the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in IPL. They have got a healthy 21-12 edge in the head-to-head record.
However, Royal Challengers Bengaluru have won the last two encounters against the Chennai Super Kings, including a win in the nail-biting clash in Bengaluru 12 months ago.
A lot has changed in the last one year for RCB as this time last season, they were reeling at the bottom of the IPL 2024 points table, with three wins from 10 games, before pulling off a great turnaround to qualify for the playoffs.
In 2025, RCB players have looked calmer than ever, have clear role clarity, and are delivering as a unit without depending too much on individual brilliance. Currently, they sit at the No.3 spot on the points table with seven wins in 10 matches.
Talking about their opponents, Chennai Super Kings, they have already been knocked out of the playoffs race. CSK have delivered one of their worst performances in the history of the IPL in the ongoing season.
They have chopped and changed a lot and have already started looking at the next year, giving opportunities to as many youngsters as they can.
CSK are currently at the No.10 spot on the IPL 2025 points table with just two wins in 10 matches. The main reason behind the struggles of CSK in the ongoing IPL has been the poor performances of the batters. No combinations seemed to have worked for CSK, and either they have failed to post big scores or chase down the targets.
The same thing can't be said about their bowling as Noor Ahmad has been handling the spin duties pretty well while pacer Khaleel Ahmed has been having one of his best IPL seasons, and both of them are in the top five in the leading wicket-takers list.
Speaking at the toss, MS Dhoni said that they would want to make the most of their last few matches. He said:
"We are looking to bowl first. We want to make the most of the last few games we have got."
Meanwhile, Rajat Patidar said that they don't mind batting first as the surface won't change much. He stated:
"We would have fielded as well. But the wicket will not change that much."
