Troopers said a 2015 FedEx delivery truck attempted to cross NC 181 from Bowman Avenue and struck a 2006 Nissan Frontier driven by Powell.
Highway Patrol said the impact caused Powell’s vehicle to hit a guardrail and overturn. He was not wearing a seatbelt and was ejected, dying at the scene from his injuries.
