EDITOR’S NOTE: The following is a summary of crime reports taken from the Greeley Police Department’s daily logs. Only a few of the hundreds of reports will be used in this weekly column because of space limitations.
April 8
6:30 p.m.: A caller in the 4400 block of 9th Street reported a cat was at her door and would not leave. The caller was worried because her dog was not friendly with cats.
7:15 p.m.: A caller at a dry cleaning business in the 2600 block of 10th Street reported a man pulled up in a vehicle with no plates and parked. The man then peed on the property before taking off walking west down 10th Street.
April 9
4:00 p.m.: A caller in the 2400 block of 38th Avenue reported a coworker had been recently arrested and the caller was worried the coworker’s dog would not be taken care of.
4:15 p.m.: A caller in the 2600 block of 11th Avenue reported a man in front of the house yelling at people and vehicles passing by.
7:45 p.m.: A caller at 65th Avenue and 29th Street reported a white peacock in the road near St. Michael’s Square. The caller believed it escaped from a house in the area that has exotic animals.
10:00 p.m.: A caller at a hotel in the 700 block of 8th Street reported two men he believed were pretending to change a tire to steal cars. Police responded to the hotel and learned the car belonged to the men’s sister and they were trying to get it to run.
April 10
11:45 a.m.: A caller in the 900 block of 36th Avenue reported finding a care kit containing needles and naloxone and requested someone come pick it up.
1:00 p.m.: A man at the Greeley Police Department reported he had tried to register a firearm and found out it had previously been reported stolen.
1:30 p.m.: A caller reported a man in a large pickup truck had been sitting outside his mother’s house for the past hour and kept asking her to open the door to let him in. The man left when the caller returned to the house.
2:15 p.m.: A caller at an unknown address reported a man who posted on Facebook bragging about hoarding his Xanax prescription in case he had to sell them when things “hit the fan.”
April 11
4:45 a.m.: An employee at a coffee shop in the 2500 block of 11th Avenue reported that someone fell asleep in front of the front doors, blocking her from going inside.
7:15 a.m.: A caller at a fast-food taco restaurant in the 3500 block of 10th Street reported a man walked inside while dancing, then began to fall asleep while standing up.
7:45 a.m.: A caller at a bed and breakfast in the 1200 block of 9th Avenue reported a naked man walked out of the bathroom and outside into an alley.
9:00 a.m.: A caller in the 2400 block of 35th Avenue reported that his son and a friend were ding-dong ditching houses in the area.
