Alison Sweeney keeps popping back up in Salem on Peacock's Days of Our Lives, but in between that, she stays plenty busy on the Hallmark Channel — and now she has two new projects being released in summer 2025 alongside fellow Hallmark Channel favorite Ashley Williams.
Hallmark Media announced Thursday (May 1) that Sweeney and Williams are starring in and executive producing a duet of films being released in June called To Barcelona, My Love and To Barcelona, Forever.
In the first film, Sweeney plays Erica, an American living in Barcelona who translates novels into Spanish, though she dreams of being a published author herself one day. Williams plays Anna, an American author of a book titled "Barcelona, Mi Amor" that became a bestseller after Erica's translation.
The press release reads, "Due to its local popularity, Anna comes to Barcelona for a book signing event. Her arrival not only catches the attention of local bookstore owner Nico (Alejandro Tous), for whom Erica has long had feelings, Anna’s appearance at the store threatens to bring to light Erica’s secret – she took liberties with her translation to improve the story and infuse it with the local authenticity it was missing. As the two women become friends over the course of Anna’s visit, they ultimately help each other embark on a path to find their true happiness."
The follow-up film, To Barcelona, Forever, jumps five months later and follows Erica and Anna as they find their way through new chapters in their lives.
"This time the friends find themselves traveling outside the city of Barcelona to a charming village where a misunderstanding leads to unexpected romance for one of them," said the description.
On Instagram, Sweeney wrote, "Ashley & I are so excited to announce the projects we’ve been hinting at all year: To Barcelona, With Love & To Barcelona, Forever are movies all about fun, romance & friendship - and of course gorgeous Barcelona! They will kick off @hallmarkchannel‘s annual Passport to Love."

“Working with Ashley on these projects has been a dream come true. I loved working in Spain and meeting so many incredibly talented people who helped us make this all possible,” said Sweeney. "Craig Baumgarten and I have done a lot of these movies, but working with Ashley as a producing partner and an actress, it has also been entirely delightful! The two movies were filmed entirely on location in Barcelona, Spain, and its surrounding countryside.
To Barcelona, With Love premieres Saturday, June 7 at 8 p.m. ET/PT, and To Barcelona, Forever premieres Saturday, June 14 at 8 p.m. ET/PT, both on Hallmark Channel.
