The following were compiled from reports prepared by the Ukiah Police Department. To anonymously report crime information, call 707-463-6205.

TEACHER ASSAULTED: Caller in the 500 block of Low Gap Road reported at 8:55 a.m. April 25 that a teacher had been assaulted by a student. An officer responded and arrested a 12-year-old boy for vandalism and battery on a school employee.

    WOMAN ROLLING IN ROAD: Caller in the 900 block of South State Street reported at 1:33 p.m. April 25 that a woman was “rolling around in the roadway.” An officer responded and reported that the incident was referred to county mental health staff.

    ANIMAL CRUELTY: Caller in the 400 block of North State Street reported at 5:26 p.m. April 25 witnessing animal cruelty. An officer responded and arrested a 57-year-old man for possession of both a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia, and for violating his probation. He was cited and released.

    INJURED KITTEN: Caller on Cherry Court reported at 7:54 p.m. April 25 an injured kitten at the location. An officer responded and reported contacting the animal shelter.

    WATER MAIN BREAK: Caller in the 700 block of South State Street reported a water main break at 11:20 p.m. April 25. City Public Works staff were notified.

    CAT BITE: An officer took a report of a cat bite in the 500 block of West Mill Street at 9:51 a.m. April 26.

    DOG BITE: An officer took a report of a dog bite in the 600 block of Willow Avenue at 9:53 a.m. April 26.

    INJURED CAT: Caller in the 100 block of Ford Street reported at 12:40 p.m. April 26 an injured cat at the location. An officer reported that the cat was taken to the animal shelter.

    DUI: An officer stopped a vehicle in the 900 block of North State Street at 2:04 a.m. April 27 and arrested Yasminne Rodriguez Vega, 39, of Fort Bragg, on suspicion of driving under the influence.

    WOMAN YELLING AT PASSERSBY: Caller in the 400 block of Observatory Avenue reported at 8:33 a.m. April 27 that a woman was yelling at people in the area. An officer responded and reported that the person left upon request.

    URINATING IN PLAZA: Caller in the 300 block of South State Street reported at 1:03 p.m. April 27 that a man was urinating in the park there. An officer responded and reported that no violations were seen, but the person left the area after being contacted.

    SHOPLIFTER: Caller at Friedman’s in the 1200 block of Airport Park Boulevard reported at 4:23 p.m. April 27 that someone stole items. An officer responded and cited and released a 28-year-old man for theft.

    SUSPICIOUS PERSON IN RIVERSIDE PARK: An officer contacted a person behaving suspiciously in Riverside Park at 3:12 a.m. April 28 and arrested Tony Hanover, 19, of Ukiah, on suspicion of possessing both a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia, and of violating his probation. He was booked into Mendocino County Jail.

    The following were compiled from reports prepared by the UPD regarding calls handled by the Fort Bragg Police Department.

    911 HANGUP: A 911 call was placed and hung up in the 100 block of Holmes Lane. An officer responded and reported that everyone at the location was fine and a party there was broken up.

    DUI: An officer stopped a vehicle in the 100 block of South Street at 9:54 p.m. April 27 and arrested Angel Soria, 30, of Fort Bragg, on suspicion of driving under the influence. The driver was cited and released and their vehicle stored.

    Those arrested by law enforcement officers are innocent until proven guilty. People reported as having been arrested may contact the Daily Journal once their case has been concluded so the results can be reported. Those who feel the information is in error should contact the appropriate agency. In the case of those arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of an intoxicant, all DUI cases reported by law enforcement agencies are reported by the newspaper.
