In most of our households, a Costco rotisserie chicken won’t last long enough to make it to leftovers. It might not even make it out of the parking lot if we’re being completely honest. It’s so juicy and delicious, and at just over $5 for a 3-pounder, it’s perfect for a quick and easy weeknight meal—if it even lasts that long, that is.

The real secret to making sure you have some of that gloriously moist, perfectly cooked chicken leftover? Buy three. One for the car, another for dinner, and one to tuck into the next day. At least that way, you’ll have at least half a chicken left over for sandwiches tomorrow. On second thought, maybe grab four. Of course, some of us have a will of steel and can hold off on digging into that perfectly seasoned poultry ahead of time or portion it out for meal prep for the week, but I’m not one of those people.

They’re almost too perfect if you ask me. The only real downside is those pesky leaky bags that get grease and juices everywhere. They’re flimsy and tear easily, making it nearly impossible to carry them from the warehouse home without making a mess. If you think about it, we’re actually solving a problem by crushing a whole chicken before we make it home. It’s definitely not our fault.
