THE Pittsburgh Steelers are continuing to shape up their roster after the NFL Draft.
The Steelers are moving roster pieces around as they wait for an answer from Aaron Rodgers.
On Wednesday, the Steelers announced they are releasing linebacker Thomas Rush.
Rush was signed as an undrafted free agent by the Tennessee Titans in 2023.
He quickly was moved to the team’s practice squad before being waived a year later.
The Steelers picked Rush up off waivers last month, but he didn’t last long on the roster.
He has been released into free agency and will have a chance to sign with a new team before the season starts.
Rush has yet to appear in an NFL game in his career.
The Steelers made multiple roster moves on Wednesday, also releasing defensive tackle Montravius Adams.
Adams was drafted in 2017 by the Green Bay Packers, where he spent four years of his career.
In 2021 he signed with the New Orleans Saints, but didn’t perform well and was released midseason.
The Steelers picked him up at that point and he has spent the last three seasons with the team.
In his career, Adams appeared in 96 games and started 26 of them.
He compiled 123 tackles, two forced fumbles, and 2.5 sacks.
Like Rush, Adams is now free to sign with any new team in free agency before the season starts.
Now that the Steelers have some open roster spots, it is expected that they will sign Rodgers soon.
“The Steelers are confident and they think that Aaron Rodgers will be in Pittsburgh,” NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport said during the draft.
