Now is the time to experience four seasons in one day as Netflix launches a new star-studded comedy series.
Tina Fey and Steve Carrell lead the cast in The Four Seasons, which reimagines the 1981 film classic of the same name starring Alan Alda and Carol Burnett.
The original focused on the ups and downs of three married couples across spring, summer, autumn and winter.
The Netflix series takes a slightly different approach, following a group of longtime friends over the course of four holidays.
Fey, who created, wrote and executive-produced the new series, said she was “a huge fan, even though I was only 10, when the movie came out”.
Her version of it will see two episodes for each season, with the friends only ever seen on holiday rather than at home or work.
She added: “I hope audiences feel like they are inside a big sweater with us, and also having a dinner party with us, and I hope that any of the joy and warmth that we all feel for each other all transfers to them, and that we are a comfort and provide some laughs for them in their home.”

Kate (Fey) and Jack Burroughs (Forte), Nick (Carell) and Anne Callan (Kenney-Silver), and Danny (Domingo) and Claude Zimmer (Calvani) must confront changes in their marriages and friendships during the course of four holidays across four seasons.
When they learn on one weekend break that one couple in the group is about to split up, they are completely upended by the news.

“It feels like these people have existed in each other’s lives for a long time.
“There’s a code, there’s an unspoken relationship that entwines all of them, and they speak the same language to each other.
“There’s a shorthand, and it’s funny.”
Despite holiday hijinks and high adventures, the series also deals with the thorny issues which almost every couple and friend group experiences throughout the years and acknowledges platonic relationships often require just as much care as romantic ones.
