— Matt Zenitz (@mzenitz) April 29, 2025Vinson was a local product of Austin’s Oak Hill Academy when he committed to Texas and Rodney Terry. He was a 3-star big man and the 11th overall prospect in the state of Texas, according to the 247 Sports Composite.
As a true freshman, Vinson appeared in just 9 games while averaging 2.2 points, 1.1 rebounds and 0.3 blocks while shooting 75% from the floor. He joins a growing portal class for McMillan as he heads into his first season with Texas A&M.
Vinson becomes the 7th transfer piece for McMillan so far this offseason, including 4 other pieces from high-major programs across the country. Former Oklahoma guard Duke Miles and former 5-star recruit Mackenzie Mgbako (Indiana) are some of the key pieces.
Expectations for McMillan’s tenure have been mixed since his hiring, but so far, he has added a transfer class that ranks 35th nationally, per 247 Sports.
