Kyle Bentley announces reelection for Greeley-Evans District 6 Board of Education

Kyle Bentley will seek reelection to the Greeley-Evans District 6 Board of Education in the November election.

Voters elected Bentley to the school board in November 2021. In March, he was unanimously elected as vice president of the board.

“Service to our community is at the core of everything I do,” Bentley said in a notice of candidacy letter. “This leadership role has deepened my commitment to working collaboratively with our community to ensure every student in District 6 receives a safe, high-quality education built on strong academic and career preparation.”

Since joining the board, Bentley feels proud of the “meaningful progress” he and his fellow board members have made, the letter said. Although his term ends in November, he said he believes more important work awaits. If reelected, his focus areas include:

Ensuring the district challenges, supports and prepares students for future success by raising academic standards. Navigating budget cuts by protecting classroom instruction and prioritizing funding that impacts students. Expanding college and career readiness programs, including trade-oriented pathways. He wants to double the size of the welding and esthetician programs at the Career and Technical Education Center for students to enter high-demand careers after graduation. Enhancing safety and security measures to ensure a safe and welcoming environment for all.

“I believe practical decision-making that focuses on outcomes, accountability and innovation — always with students, families and our community as the top priority,” he said.

Bentley said he brings a “common-sense, results-driven approach to leadership” through his 12 years of business leadership experience, including serving as president of Bentley Welding Inc.

Additional work in the community for Bentley includes serving as vice president of the Board of Directors for Greeley Family House, which supports families experiencing homelessness in the community. Bentley feels this role has strengthened his understanding of the challenges District 6 families face, reaffirming a belief that “strong schools help build strong communities,” according to the letter.

“I respectfully ask for your continued support and your vote this November so we can build a brighter, safer, and opportunity-rich future for all students in District 6,” Bentley said.

Bentley joins candidates Weston Edmunds, Deana Lemos-Garcia and Robyn Roggy, who have announced their campaign to fill four out of seven vacant seats on the Board of Education in November.
