Oleksandr Usyk doesn’t agree with the judges’ decision to award Chris Eubank Jr victory over Conor Benn.
Eubank Jr and Benn settled a feud of over four years in the squared circle in front of 60,000 fans at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
It was the former who took the victory after an epic back and forth battle, with a unanimous decision handed to Eubank Jr on the judges scorecards.
Benn was disappointed at the final bell and felt he had done enough to get his hand raised.
And that is an opinion that current unified heavyweight world champion Usyk shares.
He told talkSPORT in an interview ahead of his rematch with Daniel Dubois: “It was a great fight.
“I think Benn won, I didn’t watch the entire fight and count.
“But I had him winning the first six or seven rounds.”
The Ukrainian’s opinion was shared by many in the boxing fraternity surprisingly, with Benn putting up a brave display.
Eubank Jr certainly felt the effects of his rival’s shots, and was admitted to hospital for assessment for his injuries.
But ‘Next Gen’ outlanded his rival in the fight, with 367 of his shots hitting the target compared to the 215 of Benn.
An AI judge scored it 117-111 in favour of Eubank Jr, and further disagreed with Usyk’s claim.
Benn was dejected after his defeat to Eubank JrGettyBenn’s promoter Eddie Hearn believes he did enough to take a victory.
“Unbelievable. I couldn’t split them at the end,” he said.
“I thought Conor Benn was winning the fight. I thought he lost the last two rounds.
“I couldn’t split them. 116-112, we’ve seen him moan before about scores. It is what it is.
“I don’t see Chris Eubank winning that fight by four rounds at all. But forget that, just unbelievable respect for both men.
“I could not be prouder of Conor Benn for what he’s been through and the heart he showed in the ring tonight.

“That’s what the public love to see, someone that to the final bell does not stop throwing punches and trying to win.
“It was one of the best fights, one of the most dramatic fights I’ve seen. Big respect to Chris Eubank Jr and Conor Benn, two great examples.
“A sport built out of respect and those two warriors should respect each other after that.”
Despite not being on the receiving end of a decision, Benn could take many positives from fight night.
And he will likely get a shot at immediate redemption, as he holds a clause for an immediate rematch.
