SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) -- A United flight from Hawaii bound for Denver, Colorado was diverted to San Francisco Monday morning due to a technical issue. The flight, UAL 1731, took off from Kona International Airport on Hawaii's Big Island at 6:56 p.m. on Sunday.
According to a United Airlines representative, the flight was diverted due to a malfunctioning door sensor. Flight records indicate it landed at SFO at 3:52 a.m. An airport spokesperson told KRON4.com the plane, a Boeing 777, landed without incident.
However, a passenger onboard the plane told KRON4 that first responder vehicles were visible around the plane on the runway when it touched down.
United told KRON4 a different aircraft had been arranged to take the passengers to Denver Monday. There were 360 passengers and 10 crew members aboard the flight.
