Earlier today, Christie Brinkley, 71, joined the Today Show to talk about her new memoir, Uptown Girl, and she got very candid about where her relationship stands with ex-husband, Billy Joel.
The two have had their fair share of ups and downs and share a daughter together, Alexa Ray Joel, 39. Despite going their separate ways years ago, Brinkley explained how they still share an emotional bond.

"I still love him. The love is still there. We just had things that kept us from being able to continue to live together. At that point, it was the best thing for us to do. He's a great guy, a great friend, we've had so many wonderful years together."
She continued, "We had years where we couldn't believe the paths that our lives were taking."
Just because a couple divorces doesn't mean they don't still care deeply for each other -- it's just in a non-romantic way.
