We are not aiming for qualification...: Rajat Patidar amid RCBs terrific IPL 2025 campaign

After thrashing Delhi Capitals by six wickets on Sunday, April 27, the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) have almost confirmed their qualification for the IPL 2025 playoffs. The RCB jumped to the top of the IPL 2025 points table with their sixth away victory this season, taking their tally to 14 from 10 games.

And Virat Kohli was like, “7 out of 10, boys,” as Royal Challengers Bengaluru shared a heartwarming video on their social media handle to show how things were in the dressing room after recording their latest win over Delhi Capitals in the IPL 2025 clash at the Arun Jaitley Stadium.

The video shows several moments from the DC vs RCB match, including Virat Kohli touching his childhood coach Rajkumar Sharma’s feet on the ground after the match in Delhi. In the clip, the Royal Challengers Bengaluru head coach, Andy Flower, was also seen praising Rajat Patidar’s captaincy.

We are aiming to come in the top two - Rajat Patidar

In the same video, the RCB captain, Rajat Patidar, said that the team's goal isn't just qualification but finishing in the top two. Patidar also praised Krunal and Virat Kohli for their calm and strategic approach to their innings, which helped them beat DC in Delhi.

Rajat Patidar said, “Every game is important for me because we are not aiming for qualification. We are aiming to come in the top two. Initially, we lost three wickets early. I think we were under pressure at that time. But I think the way Krunal and Virat Kohli calculated their inning, I think that was nice to see.”

Meanwhile, Krunal Pandya, who remained unbeaten on 73 runs off 57 balls, expressed his satisfaction after finding his rhythm with the bat after a long wait. He reflected on his journey, feeling overwhelmed but confident that his hard work would pay off.

He credited his Player of the Match performance to his determination and the support from Kohli, whose energy and backing helped him immensely during their partnership against DC. Krunal was especially pleased with his unbeaten knock and the team's win, which made his effort more meaningful. He also noted the team's goal to do something special this season.

Krunal Pandya said in the same video shared by RCB, X: “It's been a long wait for me to get my rhythm in batting. But again, it's quite satisfying and quite overwhelming as well because I've been searching for something like this. Because I always knew that I had it in me. Somewhere down the line, you know, something was missing. But again, I used to ask my question and tell myself, Wait, don't give up. It will come.”

Pandya added, “So, I mean, yeah, I'm just glad that I was able to contribute to the team. And the icing on the cake for me was that I remained not out. When you always keep the team first, then God also will bless you in the right way because your intentions are right. Yeah, it was quite satisfying.”

'We are here to do something special'

The spin bowling all-rounder also said that it was so much fun to bat with Kohli. He said that the Indian batting icon’s energy is unbelievable, and he is a freak. He also gave credit to Kohli for being able to hit the IPL fifty. Krunal also said that it's been amazing to win seven games and be at the top of the points table with 14 points.

Pandya signed off by saying, “And as I said on day one, when I joined RCLU, I'll repeat the same thing: we are here to do something special. I don't want to mention anything.”
