Florida baseball stumbled out of the gates with another slow start this season, but the Gators are starting to heat up. On Sunday, it was a 9-5 win for Florida over No. 5 Arkansas, giving the Gators a 3rd straight SEC series win, including 2 of 3 from the Razorbacks.
Coming into the weekend, Florida was 8-1 in its last 9 games, including 5-1 in its last 6 SEC games. The weekend began with a clutch 6-4 win by the Gators before Arkansas shut out Florida with a 7-0 win on Saturday, setting up Sunday’s rubber match.
In spite of a run for Florida in the bottom of the 1st, it looked like this one might get out of hand with Arkansas delivering a 5-run 2nd inning. Though trailing 5-1, Florida slowly began chipping away and eventually took the lead for good with an RBI double from Bobby Boser in the 6th inning.

Despite the 9 runs scored, the story of this one for Florida was a bullpen that delivered a big-time finish after the Razorbacks got to starter Billy Barlow for 4 earned runs. A combination of 4 relievers went 7.2 innings pitched with just a lone earned run allowed. Jake Clemente covered the final 3 innings of the game without allowing a run for the save.

The first 6 pitches to toe the rubber for the Razorbacks all allowed at least 1 earned run, with only Tate McGuire covering the final 2 outs without allowing an earned run.
