Keith Urban is fanning flames in the Swiftie community after unveiling a bold new opinion about Taylor Swift's sixth studio album, reputation.
The fan-favorite album is one of two re-recordings yet to be released, along with Swift's self-titled debut album, and in a new interview with Much Music uploaded to TikTok, the Australian country star has revealed his surprising first impression of the record.
At the start of the clip shared on social media, Urban pulled out a vinyl of Swift’s re-recorded version of Fearless—on which he is featured—and told his interviewers, “I hope this is Taylor’s Version!”
“Just checking,” he said cheekily as they affirmed that it was, joking about how he would have tossed it away if it wasn’t. “She’ll never talk to me otherwise,” he quipped.
“It’s a great—I mean, you could pick out any Taylor record and… she’s insanely talented," he gushed, repeating a sentiment he's shared before. "And, often ahead of her time."
However, the two weren't necessarily on the same page when reputation first came out. "I remember hearing [it for the first time], and I was like, ‘Ohhhh, I’m not sure about this record,’" he admitted. "...I’m a fan, right, and I’m like, 'mmmm, mmm, yeah, it’s not it for me.'"
"Years later," though, he gave it another shot, realizing, "I love this record."
"So, sometimes, she’s just way ahead of the curve,” he concluded.

"'I hope this is Taylor's Version' ?," one repeated, touched by his dedication to the "Mastermind" singer's quest to own all of her music.
"'I hope this is Taylor's version' YOU ARE A FEATURE ON THIS ALBUM??" someone else wrote in shock, while another commented, "It’s funny that he didn’t even mention that he’s featured on that album. Just started talking about how amazing rep is?."
"No way me and Keith urban have the same opinion of rep lol," someone else gushed.
Some made the connection between his praise and her lyrics in "this is me trying."
“I was so ahead of the curve, the curve became a sphere," one commented, while someone else declared that Swift actually "creates the curve."
Others couldn't help but to clown about the possibility of Urban's comment serving as an Easter egg on behalf of Swift, with one wondering if it meant, "Reputation tv soon?!?" and we have to ask... Keith, what do you know?!
