American Pickers Mike Wolfe Bids Fans Farewell as He Closes Major Career Chapter

American Pickers star Mike Wolfe recently said goodbye to fans in person as he closed a major career chapter.

On Saturday, April 26, the History Channel personality, 60, met with folks at his Antique Archaeology store in Nashville, Tenn., as it prepared to permanently close its doors.

    "These two photos of the boss man reflect 15 years of @americanpickers and @antiquearchaeology," a joint Instagram post from Wolfe and Antique Archaeology on Saturday read. "There has been So many miles and stories along with moments that have touched all of our hearts."

    From 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. the history fanatic was present at the Nashville store to "thank everyone for the support of this life changing shop he opened years ago."

    However, the update clarified, "But not to worry the flagship Iowa store will remain open… Come say hello hang out and share in this celebration with us the next chapter in Mikes world that you all helped create. ?."

    In the comments, Wolfe's followers shared their support.

    One wrote, "We love Mike Wolf thanks for giving us a show with quality and it's definitely one of my comfort shows ?."

    Another Instagram user shared, "Met Him in Savannah one time - really awesome guy. I’m obsessed with this show and his vibes are the best!! I wish I could be in Nashville today, congratulations ? @mikewolfeamericanpicker and thank you for your awesomeness."

    Someone else declared, "No Sir thank you ? Mike it’s been one hell of a ride and can’t wait for the next adventure you take on."

    On April 18, Wolfe announced the bold switch-up via Instagram.

    "After nearly 15 amazing years, we’ve made the tough decision to close the doors of our Antique Archaeology store here in Music City," he revealed.

    The history buff explained, "This place has meant the world to me — not just the brick and mortar, but the people. The community. The visitors from all over the world who came through those doors, shared their stories, and reminded me every day why I started this journey in the first place."

    Wolfe also shared his plans for focusing on family, "slowing down a little, staying rooted, and focusing on the new projects that are pulling at my soul."

    Still, Wolfe stressed that he is "not disappearing — not even close."

    "I’ll still be picking, sharing, and selling online and at our original LeClaire, Iowa store," he clarified. "But I’ve learned over the years that it’s easy to spread yourself too thin, and balance is something we all chase in one way or another."

    In addition to working on another season of American Pickers, Wolfe recently announced a brand new History Channel show and his first film appearance.

    Meanwhile, his co-star, Danielle Colby, 49, has unveiled exciting career plans of her own.
