Walmart customer begs for chain to ‘fix this’ after controversial policy stunted purchase at ‘2 different stores’

A FRUSTRATED customer has urged Walmart to “fix this” after store employees were unable – or unwilling – to help them access a locked section of the store.

The shopper took to the social media platform X to voice their anger, claiming they had a similarly negative experience on two separate visits.

    The customer was angered by the service they received

    The customer said that, at two different Walmart locations, they were unable to purchase an item from a locked case in the automotive section.

    on Wednesday read: “@Walmart 2 different stores nobody can open a damn lock case for car products.

    Asked if someone is coming and the associate says’ “i dont want to be the one to give you the bad news.”

    “Fix this @Walmart.”

    Walmart has not yet responded publicly to the post or to a request for comment.

    This is not the only time that a Walmart shopper has been left less than satisfied with the service they received from the store.

    One customer recently complained that there were no registers open, leaving them forced to checkout themselves with a huge amount of items.

    in February read: “Hey @Walmart, how come you don’t have ANY registers open at 8:30 am?

    “Now I gotta check out an entire cart in a very small area.

    “Do better. How about offer a discount to those who self checkout?”

    The Walmart customer took pictures of their cart at the self checkout machine, showing that it didn’t fit into the space provided.

    This space would normally be used to smaller item numbers in baskets, whilst the carts are sorted at the registers by staff.

    Walmart has not yet directly responded to the post.

    Walmart did however recently respond to a shopper who reported a “tedious” and horrible” experience that punished him with a wait in a long line.

    The post said: “@Walmart please explain to my store #5671 forces customers to not use the express checkout but to use the scan and go in the app?

    “You’re forcing non Walmart+ customers to wait on long lines even if they have just a few items as a punishment for not having the membership.

    “On top of that, the process of scanning via the phone is so much more tedious than self scanning at the express checkout machine.

    “It makes the overall experience horrible and tedious versus convenient

    “Please advise your store to allow express checkout to function as normal.

    “I literally watched a woman with 3 children get turned away and sent to the long cashier lines and she had 5 or 6 items.

    “Not very customer friendly or efficient.

    “It shouldn’t be that way.

    “Now we must have a membership to actually have a worst experience.”

    Walmart responded to the post: “Ivan, can you please send us a DM with details about these long lines? We want to check into this.”

    Walmart’s Scan and Go system was created to help customers scan items as they shop, pay, and leave without waiting in long checkout lines.

    The retailer describes the new system to be done in a few easy steps:

    Customers first need to have the Walmart app downloaded on their phones with their location access enabled. On the Store Mode landing page, shoppers must click the Scan and Go option. Customers can scan each item and place them in their carts as they shop. At the end, they’ll be prompted to view the cart to make sure the quantity on the app matches the ones in their carts. Shoppers will press “Check Out” and head to a self-checkout kiosk. They’ll be prompted to scan the provided QR code at the register and confirm their payment method. Once the transaction is complete, shoppers can leave the store without worry.
