Virginia Giuffre, one of Jeffrey Epstein's most prominent survivors who also lodged sexual assault allegations against Prince Andrew, has died. She was 41.
The news was announced on Friday, April 26, after Giuffre's family confirmed her tragic passing. She is said to have died at her farm in Western Australia, where authorities found her unresponsive on Friday night.
The family also revealed that the late activist died by suicide.

In a statement obtained by Reuters, Giuffre's family described her as a "fierce warrior in the fight against sexual abuse," while noting that the "toll of abuse...became unbearable."
"She lost her life to suicide, after being a lifelong victim of sexual abuse and sex trafficking," the statement said.
Giuffre, a mother of three, was publicly known for being a an outspoken accuser of convicted sex offenders Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell, whom Giuffre said trafficked her as a teenager.
Giuffre claimed to have suffered sexual abuse at the hands of Epstein and his associates for years. She also alleged that Epstein and Maxwell trafficked her to Prince Andrew when she was still a minor.
She filed a lawsuit against the disgraced royal in 2021, later settling out of court in 2022. Epstein died by suicide in 2019 while in prison awaiting trial. Maxwell was sentenced to 20 years in prison for her role in the crimes.
In the statement on Friday, Giuffre's family described her as "the light that lifted so many survivors."
"Despite all the adversity she faced in her life, she shone so bright," they continued. "She will be missed beyond measure."
