— Pete Nakos (@PeteNakos_) April 25, 2025Oklahoma used 2 kickers last season: Zach Schmit and Tyler Keltner. That duo combined to make 16-of-20 field goals on the season. However, both of those players have since moved on from the program so the Sooners have been in need of a new option at kicker.
The only kickers listed on OU’s roster this spring were Liam Evans and Grayson Miller. Evans is a redshirt freshman from Moore, Oklahoma. He went 1-for-1 on extra point attempts last season. Miller is a transfer from the University of Central Oklahoma.
As for Sandell, he’s a proven kicker at the FBS level. He went 17-of-18 on kicks that were 49 yards or less last season for the Road Runners. He boasts a career-long of 54 yards as well. His average made field goal distance last season was 38.3 yards.
Sandell will arrive in Norman with 2 years of eligibility remaining.
