CELEBRITY Big Brother star Danny Beard has revealed that he turned down a huge BBC show, as he took a swipe at fan-favourite series.
Danny Beard — who goes by Daniel Curtis away from the stage – is a drag legend, and before becoming a household name, they won Drag Idol UK in 2015.
The following year the drag performer and singer shot to fame by reaching the semi-finals of Britain’s Got Talent.
Since then they have become a familiar face on TV, including appearing on Karaoke Club: Drag Edition in 2021, ultimately finishing in fourth place overall.
Danny has done loads of TV work, and he has also forged a comedy career — in November 2023, they took part in Channel 4’s Comedy Roast, which was in aid of Stand Up To Cancer.
The popular star also thrilled fans when they appeared on Hollyoaks in March 2023.
But there’s one show that the Celeb Big Brother said no to.
The 32-year-old turned down MasterChef – the famed BBC cooking show.
Danny was in the kitchen cooking, when Chris Hughes peered over and asked him: “You ever done MasterChef?”
Danny simply replied: “No, they asked me and I said no.”
Chris asked him “why?” to which he replied: “Loads of other drag queens have done it, and I feel like you just get pigeonholed then, like ‘another drag queen we can wheel in.’”
Danny’s confession comes as some fans slammed the star for having a ‘game plan.’
It came after the Britain’s Got Talent star, 32, became an emotional during a chat with Big Brother on last night’s show.
In a conversation in the Diary Room, Danny became emotional after it was revealed he was one of the six finalists.
Speaking to Big Brother he said: “To survive a triple eviction, I suppose it makes me feel liked, which is always a very odd, odd feeling to have.

Discussing it on Reddit, one fan said: “I find it funny Danny keeps saying he isn’t a celebrity like everyone else when he knows for sure big brother fans are aware of him cos he used to appear on late & live, he speaks like he is a civilian in there with them lMAO.”
Others agreed with him, with one saying: “I’m sure Danny has a gameplan going on here, he knows what he’s doing.”
