Hellebuyck pulled as Blues rout Jets in Game 3

The St. Louis Blues bounced back in Game 3 for their first win in their first-round series with the Winnipeg Jets.

Routing the Jets 7–2 on Thursday night and chasing goaltender Connor Hellebuyck after their sixth goal, the Blues narrowed the series gap to 2–1.

Pavel Buchnevich led St. Louis’ offence with a hat trick, while Cam Fowler, Jordan Kyrou, Alexey Toropchenko and Colton Parayko also scored.

The Jets’ goals came from David Gustafsson and Neal Pionk, as Blues netminder Jordan Binnington stopped 16 of 18 shots in the win.

Hellebuyck was replaced by backup Eric Comrie halfway through the third, who allowed one goal on three shots.

Cole Perfetti also put the puck past Binnington, but it was ruled no goal — a call that was upheld after a lengthy review.

Game 4 is set for Sunday at noon CT in St. Louis.
