In the 42nd match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025, the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) are going head-to-head with the Rajasthan Royals (RR) on Thursday, April 24.
The list of impact players nominated by the Rajat Patidar-led Royal Challengers Bengaluru and the Riyan Parag-led Rajasthan Royals has officially been revealed for the match at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.

This will be the ninth match in the Indian Premier League 2025 for both the Royal Challengers Bengaluru and the Rajasthan Royals. Their campaigns in the ongoing season have been pretty different from each other as RCB have won five games while RR have lost six matches.
A lot of things have been going well for the Royal Challengers Bengaluru under the leadership of Rajat Patidar and they have looked like a settled unit with both the batting and bowling departments firing.
However, the thing that has been bothering RCB the most is their record at home, where they are yet to register a win in IPL 2025. One of the key reasons for that has been the struggle of their spinners, who have picked just one wicket in 15 overs at an average of 144 and an economy of 9.6 in Bengaluru. On the contrary, away from home, they have claimed 15 wickets at an average of 35.1 with an economy of 8.5.
RCB, however, look like too good of a team to continue to struggle at home, and they will have a great chance to register their first win against the Rajasthan Royals, who are severely underconfident.
Rajasthan Royals are on a four-match losing streak; they have lost the services of their captain, Sanju Samson, and are stinging from back-to-back heartbreaks as they failed to score nine runs in the final over against Delhi Capitals (DC) and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG).
RR are still mixing and matching their combinations and would be aiming to get it right very soon; otherwise, their hopes of qualifying for the playoffs will vanish soon.
Talking about the head-to-head record, the Royal Challengers Bengaluru hold a small 16-14 edge over the Rajasthan Royals.
Speaking at the toss, the Rajasthan Royals skipper Riyan Parag said that the pitch on offer is a bit sticky. He said:
"We will bowl first. The wicket looks a bit sticky and should get better later on."
Meanwhile, the Royal Challengers Bengaluru skipper Rajat Patidar, who was seen praying before the toss, said that they also wanted to bowl first. He said, "We would have loved to bowl first as well."
