Watch- Rishabh Pant screams at Digvesh Rathi; LSG management miffed?

Lucknow Super Giants captain and wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant yelled at his bowler, Digvesh Rathi, during the IPL 2025 match against Delhi Capitals (DC) at the Ekana International Stadium on Tuesday. Pant could be heard shouting at Rathi, saying "Apna waala daal na" in a video that went viral on social media.

Lucknow Super Giants suffered an eight-wicket loss against Delhi Capitals in Match 40 of the IPL 2025. KL Rahul, the former LSG captain, played a match-winning half-century for the Capitals. Rahul and Abhishek Porel guided the Delhi-based franchise to chase down a target of 160 runs with 13 balls to spare.

On the final ball of the 7th over, Digvesh Rathi appealed for an LBW after KL Rahul was struck on the pads. Pant was initially unsure but was persuaded by Rathi to use the review.

The review turned out to be a poor decision, as the ball was clearly going well outside the off-stump. Both ball-tracking and UltraEdge confirmed there was no chance of a dismissal.

Rishabh Pant, frustrated by the incorrect review, scolded Rathi. When the leg-spinner came to bowl his next over, the wicketkeeper was seen saying, "Apna waala daal na" (Just bowl your usual deliveries!).

Digvesh Rathi has impressed with the ball in his debut IPL season. The 25-year-old spinner was exceptional against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), where he took 1 wicket for 33 runs in 4 overs and helped LSG defend a total of 238. However, he bowled 4 overs for 24 runs without taking a wicket against Delhi.

Rishabh Pant's Batting Struggles Continue Amid Lucknow Super Giants' Defeat

Rishabh Pant’s batting struggles continued as Lucknow Super Giants suffered a defeat to Delhi Capitals for the second time in IPL 2025. Pant, coming in at number seven, was dismissed for a duck after facing just two balls.

Aiden Markram (52), Mitchell Marsh (45), and Ayush Badoni (36) were the top scorers, helping LSG post a total of 159/6, following a strong start. However, Pant’s poor form has drawn criticism, with this being his third duck of the season. The left-handed batter has only managed to score one fifty in nine matches.

Delhi Capitals chased down the target in 17.5 overs with eight wickets to spare. Abishek Porel (51) and KL Rahul (57*) scored half-centuries, while Axar Patel also added an unbeaten 34* from 20 balls.

LSG to Play at Home Only Twice for the Remainder of the Season

The Super Giants have won five and lost four in nine matches so far in IPL 2025. They are just outside the top four on the points table, with a net run rate of -0.054. To qualify for the playoffs, LSG will need 16 points, which means they must win three of their remaining five matches in the league stage.

Rishabh Pant's side will only play twice at home out of their remaining fixtures. They will host Royal Challengers Bengaluru on May 9, followed by their final match against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) on May 18. They will play against Mumbai Indians (MI), Punjab Kings (PBKS), and Gujarat Titans (GT) in away games.
