The legal issues for actress Lindsay Lohan's father Michael only continue to mount. Roughly a month after his arrest in Palm Beach, Florida for violating his probation, the 64-year-old media personality has been ordered to serve nine months in county lock-up, with 38 days served subtracted from his sentence.
Previously, Lohan had been arrested and charged with a 'Continuous Violence Against the Family' felony charge for allegedly assaulting his wife Kate Major this past February in Texas. According to TMZ, Lohan pled guilty to violating his probation related to the domestic abuse charges.
Over the last few years, Lohan has also been battling charges of patient brokering and attempted patient brokering -- a case that has been unfolding in the courtroom since Lohan's arrest in April 2021.
Lohan and Major's relationship has allegedly been a rocky one, with both sides of the couple hurling various accusations against the other. According to Lohan, the 64-year-old claims that his wife had been "setting him up" to get arrested, saying, "Kate has been threatening to get me violated on probation for a long time. She used these false charges here in Texas to do so."
On February 21, Major called local law enforcement agents, informing them that Lohan "flipped" her out of her chair several days prior to the call. Officials said that Major showed a female officer several bruises she allegedly received from the incident.
Following this, the police arrested Lohan and charged him with the felony assault, holding him on a $30,000 bond.
Though the couple have been technically separated since 2018, they are still legally married, although TMZ has claimed "they've been estranged for a few years now."
While multiple publications have reached out to Lindsay Lohan for comment, the 38-year-old actress behind such films as Mean Girls, The Parent Trap, and Freaky Friday has yet to provide an official statement.
