It wasn't a huge surprise when Taylor Swift's 2024 album, The Tortured Poets Department, broke sales records around the world. But now TTPD is making an unexpected return to the top of the charts — in the UK., at least.
Thanks to a surge of signed CD editions of the album released in celebration of TTPD's one-year anniversary, Swift's eleventh studio LP is predicted to return to the top position on the Official Albums Chart this week, jumping 23 spots, according to the Daily Mail.

When it was first released, TTPD had the biggest opening week for an album in the UK in seven years, surpassing Adele's 30.
While TTPD was met with some criticism upon its debut for being something of a departure from Swift's previous work, the album is clearly standing the test of time with listeners.

"In the grand scheme of Swift’s career, The Tortured Poets Department will go down as a striking and unique body of work, produced by a one-of-a-kind pop star amid a total upheaval in every aspect of her life," a recent article in People claimed, adding, "This isn’t to say Swift is the only person to grieve a devastating situationship, to worry about her staying power in the spotlight or to have their fame fundamentally affect their entire life. But she might be the only one capable of pulling these themes together in tandem."
