The LIV Golf season reignites in Mexico City this week, with plenty of the leading lights looking to build on strong performances at the Masters two weeks ago.
Market leader Jon Rahm, who holds the 18-hole course record at this week’s venue, the Club Golf de Chapultepec, will go in search of his third LIV success since he joined the tour at the beginning of last year, but there are many other hopefuls who will fancy their chances of putting the Spaniard in his place.

Patrick Reed should be full of confidence this week and not just because he is a course winner at Club Golf de Chapultepec, having won WGC events that were held at the venue in 2020.
The Texans had a slow start to this year’s LIV schedule, finishing 44th in Riyadh and 37th in Adelaide, but he recovered with a tenth in Hong Kong and will feel he has to make up for his last showing in Miami when he had to settle for seventh despite having claimed the first-round lead with a round of 67.
However, the biggest boost to his confidence should have been the third spot he earned at the Masters in which he was the strongest LIV finisher and there looks a strong chance he will be able to build upon that at a venue where he has previously been successful.
David Puig to win @ 20/1
David Puig is one player who has made steady progress over the last nine months and a first LIV win could be on the horizon.
The Spaniard finished 2024 strongly with a third place at the Spanish Open and fourth at the Alfred Dunhill Links and built on those performances on the DP World Tour on the same circuit after the new year with third at Ras Al Khaimah and fourth in Bahrain.
He then collected top-six finishes in the LIV events in Riyadh, Adelaide and Singapore and recovered well from an opening 77 to finish 14th in his most recent outing in Miami, so it is worth chancing that he can make another big impression.
Tom McKibbin to win @ 30/1
Tom McKibbin’s decision to join LIV raised eyebrows at the start of the year but he built on a sixth place at the Dubai Desert Classic to demonstrate he is completely at home in the three-round format.
The Northern Irishman was 15th on his debut in Riyadh, then seventh in Adelaide and sixth in Hong Kong, before following a 25th in Singapore with a third spot at the DP World Tour’s Singapore Classic the following week.
His 14th in Miami was another solid showing and this could be the week he makes another big step forward.
