Carlos Santana's San Antonio concert, originally scheduled for this evening, April 22, has been postponed following a sudden medical emergency.
A representative for the legendary guitarist told TMZ that they suspect dehydration is to blame after an incident during sound check led to Santana being wheeled out of the venue and loaded into an ambulance, which transported him to a local hospital for testing.
It's worth noting that Santana faced the same issue a couple of years ago when he collapsed mid-concert, with his team citing heat exhaustion and dehydration as the reason.
The San Antonio Fire Department told the publication that they responded to the theater around 5 p.m. local time after receiving a report that an elderly male had fainted (Santana is 77).
Video obtained by the outlet showed crew members attempting to provide the musician with privacy by blocking the camera's views with umbrellas as he was wheeled out to the ambulance.
His rep reported that he was doing well following his hospitalization and that he's excited to make it back to San Antonia as soon as the show is rescheduled. He's currently scheduled to perform in Sugar Land, Texas, on Wednesday, April 23. No word yet on whether that show will also need to be postponed.
Earlier this year, Santana was also forced to postpone his Las Vegas residency after falling during a walk, requiring pins to stabilize one of his fingers and keeping him from playing guitar for six weeks.
