Foreigner founding guitarist and songwriter Mick Jones is joining forces with Michael J. Fox for the release of his new solo single, “Shelter From the Storm,” an anthem designed to give fans emotional support during uncertain times.
On April 26, the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research will showcase the song at its annual Parkinson’s Unity Walk in Central Park in New York City.

“I am honored that my friend Michael J Fox has chosen to unveil 'Shelter from the Storm' at the Unity Walk this year,” Jones said in a statement. “Michael has done so much to raise awareness of the terrible debilitating disease that we share. His efforts to bring focus to the need for funds to research and a cure are legendary, and I hope to support him in any way that I can.”
In 2024, the Grammy and Golden Globe-nominated songwriter, musician and producer revealed he’d been privately battling Parkinson’s disease for about a dozen years. Although he had continued to tour with Foreigner, which was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame last year, Jones had to stop touring after the disease affected his ability to play the guitar.
Jones is planning on taking part in the Parkinson’s Unity Walk and is encouraging fans to support his goal by donating to the MJFF through his Shelter from the Storm team website.
Although “Shelter From the Storm” won’t be released on streaming services and for digital download until May 23, the song’s music video is now up on YouTube.
