Fans of The Equalizer starring Queen Latifah will be disappointed to learn that the spinoff series is not moving forward at CBS. The Equalizer introduced characters for the potential spinoff in the episode "Sins of the Father" which aired on Sunday, Apr. 20 on CBS. In it, a CIA legend (Titus Welliver) goes missing and his daughter (Juani Feliz) seeks out Robyn McCall (Queen Latifah) and her team for help.

Production for the spinoff series would have likely taken place in Atlanta, as referenced by Samantha Reed (Feliz) at the end of the episode. Many productions have moved to Georgia over the last few years to take advantage of the tax credits the state offers. Less than 48 hours after "Sins of the Father" aired, CBS nixed the spinoff series. Of course, this doesn't bode well for The Equalizer, which is the last series on the bubble, waiting on a sixth season renewal order. Shows like FBI: International, FBI: Most Wanted, Poppa's House, and a potential spinoff series from The Neighborhood have been cancelled and are not moving forward. If CBS decides to cancel the popular series, the Season 5 finale, which airs on Sunday, May 4 at 10 p.m. ET may serve as the series' final episode.
Fans have been flooding social media with #SaveTheEqualizer and #TheEqualizer in hopes of convincing CBS to give the show another season and perhaps some closure to those that ship Robyn McCall and Marcus Dante (Tory Kittles) new romance that finally moved forward this season after dancing around the two characters' mutual attraction over show's five seasons.
